Say ‘thank you’ in style
Our conference team receive requests for conference venues every day. A typical recent request was for atmospheric venue in Scotland, for 70 delegates. The Event was to say 'Thank you' to a Sales team and to recognise outstanding individuals in the form of an Awards ceremony.
To ensure they understood the client’s needs the coordinator followed up the online request with a detailed conversation. The Client wanted an atmospheric venue that emulated Scotland and that worked logistically for the delegates who were coming from all over Scotland.
An initial long list of options was provided including Royal Yacht Britannia and Dalhousie Castle, Edinburgh. However based on Hotelscene’s previous experience and following a site visit by the client, The National Piping Centre in Glasgow was chosen.
All aspects of the event, from confirmation to catering, equipment and pre-event discussions were organised by Hotelscene working alongside the Client. The post event feedback was very positive.
This extremely Scottish venue was the ideal place to hold this ceremony for the client: the location, room capacities and capabilities, freshly made traditional catering, in-house staging, and Audio Visual suppliers, ensured that this event was a fantastic success.
Furthermore Hotelscene was able to negotiate a highly competitive price bringing the venue within the budget.

How to react to a terrorist attack
As well as traditional events Hotelscene deals with the weird and the wonderful. One of the trickiest and most unusual bookings our Conference team handled recently was a request for a venue and arrangements for an outdoor team activity entitled ‘How to react to a terrorist attack’.
As this event was to involve fully acted scenarios, it was important that the venue should include a secluded area, out of the view of any members of the public or other hotel guests.
The difficulty lay in liaising with the venue to ensure privacy was guaranteed. The Conference Plus coordinator had to ensure that meeting rooms overlooking the grounds were closed for the day; even a public footpath running around the outside of the venue even had to be temporarily re-routed!
The high levels of communication and attention to detail required played to the strengths of the Conference Plus planners. Hotelscene has developed high trust with its Clients and suppliers giving the Client complete confidentiality would be maintained.
